Custom Plastic Machining & Fabrication
What plastic machining services does Eagle Performance Plastics offer?
We provide precision plastic machining services including CNC milling, CNC turning, CNC routing, and precision saw cutting. Parts are manufactured according to customer-provided drawings and specifications.
What plastic fabrication services do you offer?
Custom plastic fabrication services include plastic welding, straight-line bending, solvent bonding and adhesive joining, cutting, trimming, sawing, routing, assembly, finishing, and other value-added services.
Can you manufacture custom plastic parts?
Yes. We specialize in custom machined and fabricated plastic components manufactured to customer provided designs and specifications.
Does Eagle Performance Plastics design plastic parts?
No, we don’t design a customer’s parts. Customers provide the part design and specification, and Eagle manufactures that component accordingly.
Our team can suggest changes based on experience machining plastics, including opportunities to improve manufacturability, reduce machining operations, or select a material better suited to the application.
Do you reverse engineer parts?
No. We don’t reverse engineer customer parts. Parts are manufactured using customer provided drawings and specifications.
If a customer does not provide a 3D file, we may create the file necessary to program its machining equipment. This programming step does not replace the customer’s design specifications.
Can Eagle manufacture replacement plastic components?
Yes, when the customer can provide the necessary drawing and specifications. We can machine replacement plastic components according to those requirements.
Plastic Materials & Material Selection
What types of plastic does Eagle Performance Plastics work with?
We work with a range of engineered plastic materials selected for different mechanical, wear, chemical, and environmental requirements.
Customers can explore our Materials Catalog to compare available materials and their characteristics.
Can you help me choose a plastic material?
Yes. Our team of plastic experts can make material suggestions based on the application and requirements provided by you.
Factors may include:
- Wear resistance
- Chemical compatibility
- Friction
- Strength and rigidity
- Moisture absorption
- Dimensional stability
- Operating environment
You remain responsible for determining and testing whether a material is appropriate for the final application.
Can plastic replace metal components?
In some applications, engineered plastics can be used as alternatives to metal components. Depending on the material and application, plastics may provide characteristics such as lower friction, corrosion resistance, reduced weight, or improved wear performance.
Whether plastic is appropriate depends on the specific operating conditions and part requirements.
How can plastics help reduce equipment wear?
Selecting a plastic with appropriate wear and friction characteristics can help reduce wear in certain moving or sliding applications. Engineered plastics are commonly considered for components such as guides, wear strips, slides, and other contact surfaces.
Our team can recommend materials based on the application information you provide.
